BHRT

As we get older, our natural hormone levels start to decline. This can affect both men and women, leading to symptoms like low energy, weight gain, mood changes, trouble focusing, and a drop in sex drive. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) gently restores the hormones your body needs—estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—to help you feel balanced again.

At TrueBALANCE Weight and Hormone Clinic, our medical team specializes in creating personalized BHRT plans for every client both women and men. Because everyone’s body is different, we tailor your treatment to your unique symptoms and goals. Our approach is designed to safely help you feel and look your absolute best—more energized, more confident, and more in control of your overall physical and well-being.

How Treatment Works At Truebalance Weight Loss And Hormone Replacement Clinic

Before starting bioidentical hormone therapy, you’ll receive a full evaluation that includes blood work and a review of your health history. This helps our Providers at TrueBALANCE WEIGHT & HORMONE CLINIC understand your exact hormone levels and overall needs. From there, our medical team will personalize a BHRT plan designed to target your specific symptoms and deliver significant results.

Treatment takes place over several months, with regular check-ins to track your progress and adjust your hormone levels to a safe, and effective balance. Most clients notice steady improvements in energy, mood, focus, and overall well-being as they continue treatment.

Throughout your journey, our expert clinical team provides attentive, personalized care—guiding you every step of the way to help you feel stronger, healthier, and look your absolute best at every stage of life.

Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOS)

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition affecting about 6–13% of women of reproductive age. It often begins in the teenage years and is marked by hormone imbalances, irregular menstrual cycles, increased levels of androgens (male hormones), and multiple small cysts on the ovaries. PCOS can impact fertility and raise the risk of several long-term health conditions.

Key Features of PCOS

Hormonal Imbalance

Higher androgen levels interfere with normal reproductive hormones.

Ovarian Cysts

Small fluid-filled sacs may form on the ovaries and disrupt regular ovulation.

Irregular Periods

Cycles may be infrequent, irregular, or unusually long.

Infertility

PCOS is one of the most common causes of infertility in women.

Metabolic Health Risks

PCOS is strongly linked with insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, weight gain, and an increased risk of endometrial cancer.

Treatment and Management

Research shows that medications such as GLP-1 and GIP-based therapies, combined with healthy lifestyle changes and can help manage PCOS symptoms more effectively. Weight loss achieved with these medications often leads to improvements in hormonal balance, menstrual regularity, and overall symptoms.

Testosterone Treatment In Women

Testosterone treatment for women is primarily used to treat hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) also known as low libido, in postmenopausal women.

Diagnosis: HSDD is defined as a distressing loss of sexual desire and is diagnosed only when it causes significant personal distress. This is the only approved diagnosis for administration of testosterone to women.

the medications we offer

Pellets
Testosterone pellets are a treatment option that can provide steady, long-term hormone delivery. While they require cautious and close monitoring—especially in women—to ensure safe and effective dosing, they can be successfully performed under the guidance of an experienced clinician. With careful evaluation and ongoing follow-up, pellet therapy may be a convenient and effective option for many women.
Injections
At TrueBALANCE WEIGHT & HORMONE CLINIC, some patients may choose testosterone injections, typically administered two to three times per week. Injections are initially given in-house to ensure proper technique and allow for precise dose adjustments, promoting consistent hormone levels. Once stable hormonal levels are achieved, clients may be trained to safely self-administer injections at home, reducing the need for frequent office visits while maintaining effective therapy.
Topical Gels and Creams
This is the most common form of testosterone therapy. A measured amount of gel or cream is applied to the skin—typically the lower abdomen, thighs, or forearms. Products may come in individual packets or pump dispensers for accurate dosing. It’s best to rotate application sites daily, as applying to the same area repeatedly can cause skin irritation or changes over time.
Oral Daily Medications
These BHRT’s are just like any other daily medication that is taken daily, near or at the same time every day. This helps to obtain maximum efficacy and maintain a steady level of medication in your system.
Medications That Are Classified As BHRT
Estrogen: Estradiol- (E2): Estrace, Climara, Vivelle, Estrogel, Elestrin, Divigel, Estring
Progesterone: Micronized progesterone-Prometrium, Crinone (gel), Endometrin (insert)
Combined products: Estradiol and progesterone: Bijuvia (Capsule)
Other hormones: Testosterone and (DHEA) dehydroepiandrosterone are also used as BHRT’s

In addition, DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that serves as a precursor to other hormones, including sex hormones such as androgens and estrogens. It is the most abundant steroid hormone in the bloodstream and contributes to various bodily functions, including metabolism, immune response, and hormone balance. DHEA production naturally declines with age.
